La capacidad t\u00e9rmica de carb\u00f3n en Espa\u00f1a sufrir\u00e1 la mayor ca\u00edda en toda su historia cuando cierren la mayor\u00eda de las centrales t\u00e9rmicas que utilizan este combustible al finalizar este mes de junio. Los requisitos medioambientales hacen a esta tecnolog\u00eda mucho menos competitiva y pr\u00e1cticamente no rentable.<\/strong><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<div style='margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;'><a title='AleaSoft - Central termica carbon' href='https:\/\/aleasoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/20200630-AleaSoft-Central-termica-carbon.jpg'><img class='aligncenter' src='https:\/\/aleasoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/20200630-AleaSoft-Central-termica-carbon.jpg' alt='AleaSoft - Central termica carbon' width='740'\/><\/a><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Con el cierre de ocho <strong>centrales t\u00e9rmicas de carb\u00f3n<\/strong>, la capacidad instalada de esta tecnolog\u00eda en el sistema el\u00e9ctrico peninsular espa\u00f1ol caer\u00e1 a menos de la mitad, ya que los 5,5&nbsp;GW que se van a cerrar representan el 60% de la capacidad de generaci\u00f3n de electricidad con carb\u00f3n y nada menos que el 16% de la capacidad t\u00e9rmica total de <strong>gas<\/strong> y <strong>carb\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Desde que se empez\u00f3 a producir electricidad, el carb\u00f3n ha sido uno de los principales combustibles utilizados. En Espa\u00f1a, esta tecnolog\u00eda ha pasado de ser la reina durante la d\u00e9cada de los 90, cuando produc\u00eda incluso m\u00e1s electricidad que la <strong>nuclear<\/strong>, a ser una tecnolog\u00eda muy marginal desde principios de 2019. La entrada de los <strong>ciclos combinados de gas<\/strong>, mucho menos contaminantes, y de las <strong>renovables<\/strong>, sobre todo la <strong>e\u00f3lica<\/strong>, a partir de los primeros a\u00f1os del siglo XXI han ido restando cuota al carb\u00f3n en el mix de generaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica.<\/p>\n<div style='margin-top: 20px;margin-bottom: 20px;'><a title='AleaSoft - Carbon produccion emisones CO2 Espana' href='https:\/\/aleasoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/20200630-AleaSoft-Carbon-produccion-emisones-CO2-Espana.png'><img class='aligncenter' src='https:\/\/aleasoft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/20200630-AleaSoft-Carbon-produccion-emisones-CO2-Espana.png' alt='AleaSoft - Carbon produccion emisones CO2 Espana' width='740'\/><\/a><span style='font-size: small;'>Fuente: Elaborado por AleaSoft con datos de REE.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Los precios de los <strong>derechos de emisi\u00f3n de CO<sub>2<\/sub><\/strong>, que en 2019 alcanzaron valores cercanos a los 30 \u20ac por tonelada, han supuesto un aumento de costes y una p\u00e9rdida de competitividad de las centrales de carb\u00f3n frente a los ciclos combinados de gas, mucho menos contaminantes. La fiscalidad de la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda tambi\u00e9n afecta al carb\u00f3n. El <strong>Impuesto Especial sobre Hidrocarburos<\/strong>, m\u00e1s conocido como <strong>c\u00e9ntimo verde<\/strong>, graba a las centrales de carb\u00f3n por el carb\u00f3n que usan, mientras que los ciclos combinados de gas est\u00e1n exentos de ello desde finales de 2018.<\/p>\n<h2>El carb\u00f3n y la transici\u00f3n energ\u00e9tica<\/h2>\n<p>El principal h\u00e1ndicap con que se han encontrado los propietarios de las centrales de carb\u00f3n ha sido las inversiones necesarias para hacerlas menos contaminantes y adecuarlas a los est\u00e1ndares exigidos por la Uni\u00f3n Europea. Unas inversiones que hubieran hecho que la explotaci\u00f3n de estas centrales no hubiera sido rentable. Aun con la p\u00e9rdida de protagonismo en el mix de la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, la producci\u00f3n de electricidad con carb\u00f3n supon\u00eda entre el 60% y el 70% del total de <strong>emisiones<\/strong> del sistema el\u00e9ctrico.<\/p>\n<p>El cierre de las plantas de carb\u00f3n dejar\u00e1 algunas regiones de la pen\u00ednsula sin una de sus instalaciones industriales con mayor impacto en su actividad econ\u00f3mica. No por ser una noticia anunciada con mucha antelaci\u00f3n, deja de causar un impacto profundo en el tejido econ\u00f3mico y laboral de sus entornos.
