Dans un syst\u00e8me domin\u00e9 par les \u00e9nergies renouvelables, cette inertie dispara\u00eet, ce qui pose un probl\u00e8me pour le maintien de la stabilit\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau. Mais il y a un \u00e9l\u00e9ment qui n&rsquo;est gu\u00e8re mentionn\u00e9 en dehors de l&rsquo;environnement plus technique, et qui sera essentiel pour garantir que ce nouveau mod\u00e8le ne d\u00e9bouche pas sur un chaos instable : l&rsquo;<strong>inertie du syst\u00e8me \u00e9lectrique<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 r\u00e9cemment, l&rsquo;inertie \u00e9tait naturellement assur\u00e9e par les g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs synchrones des <strong>centrales thermiques<\/strong>,<strong> nucl\u00e9aires<\/strong> ou <strong>hydro\u00e9lectriques<\/strong>. Leurs grandes masses en rotation jouaient le r\u00f4le d&rsquo;amortisseurs qui att\u00e9nuaient les perturbations. C&rsquo;\u00e9tait un super pouvoir invisible mais vital : il permettait de maintenir la fr\u00e9quence du syst\u00e8me stable face \u00e0 toute variation brutale.<\/p>\n<p>Mais les \u00e9nergies renouvelables ne tournent pas. Ou du moins, elles n&rsquo;ont pas d&rsquo;inertie naturelle. Les <strong>parcs solaires<\/strong> et <strong>\u00e9oliens<\/strong> sont coupl\u00e9s au r\u00e9seau par l&rsquo;interm\u00e9diaire d&rsquo;onduleurs \u00e9lectroniques. Cela signifie que, dans un syst\u00e8me 100 % renouvelable, nous perdons l&rsquo;un des \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui a le plus contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9viter les pannes d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 au cours des 100 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>En outre, le mod\u00e8le d&rsquo;inertie traditionnel pr\u00e9sente une limite structurelle : il exige que les masses soient pr\u00e9alablement en mouvement, ce qui implique un temps de d\u00e9marrage, une consommation de carburant et des co\u00fbts d&rsquo;exploitation, m\u00eame si elles ne produisent pas activement de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie. Il est lourd, inefficace et polluant.<\/p>\n<p>En revanche, les <strong>batteries<\/strong> \u00e9quip\u00e9es d&rsquo;une \u00e9lectronique de puissance avanc\u00e9e, comme les onduleurs de formation de r\u00e9seau, offrent une solution radicalement diff\u00e9rente : elles peuvent injecter de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie instantan\u00e9ment, fournir une inertie virtuelle, stabiliser le r\u00e9seau, le tout sans \u00e9missions et avec un investissement beaucoup plus efficace. Ils n&rsquo;ont pas besoin de tourner : leur r\u00e9ponse est num\u00e9rique, propre et en temps r\u00e9el.<\/p>\n<p>Dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir, l&rsquo;accent ne pourra pas \u00eatre mis uniquement sur le prix ou la quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie produite. Il sera essentiel de se concentrer sur la <strong>stabilit\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me<\/strong>, sa capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9action et sa r\u00e9silience aux perturbations. Car dans un syst\u00e8me \u00e9lectrique domin\u00e9 par les \u00e9nergies renouvelables, le vrai risque ne sera pas le manque de soleil ou de vent, mais le manque d&rsquo;inertie qui garantit son \u00e9quilibre.<\/p>\n<p>La bonne nouvelle, c&rsquo;est que si l&rsquo;avenir n&rsquo;a pas de masses tournantes, il aura des solutions num\u00e9riques capables de r\u00e9agir en quelques millisecondes.
