Scientific programmer

Junior scientific programmer with experience in C++ and Python programming language for the exploitation of the software applications developed by the company, as well as for the development of new applications, functionalities and models. Experience in data analysis, data processing and modelling will also be an asset.

Full-time.

Job description

Development and maintenance of applications and processes to obtain forecasts in the energy sector, using the Alea platform combined, mainly, with C++ and Python. The most common tasks to be developed are:

  • Implement data update and export processes.
  • Researching and implementing algorithms and processes to obtain energy sector forecasts.
  • Analysis and improvement of forecast quality.

Experience in some of the following is required:

  • C++ or other similar language for scientific use
  • XML
  • Statistical skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Databases (administration and programming): Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Access
  • Web development (HTML, Javascript, ASP, PHP, WordPress, WebDav)
  • Windows systems and network administration: server management, internal networks, computer security, computer installation, virtual machines, mail, Internet, FTP, etc.
  • Web service

Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related engineering degrees.
  • Experience in: C++ language / Data processing / Modelling
