In 2025, batteries and their hybridisation with renewable energy are consolidating their position as necessary elements of the energy transition. With the progress of storage projects across Europe and the growing importance of flexibility to cope with negative prices and market volatility, these technologies have become a strategic pillar for ensuring the stability and profitability of the electricity system. Their importance has increased even further after the blackout that affected the Iberian Peninsula in April this year, which highlighted the need for storage resources capable of strengthening the security and resilience of electricity supply.
The launch of new support schemes and the increasing interest in the development of hybrid and stand-alone projects confirm that the five-year period of batteries is in full expansion. However, the lack of a fully defined regulatory framework in Spain and the difficulties in project financing continue to be the main challenges to accelerate their integration and to make the most of their potential within the electricity system.
For the third consecutive year, this webinar will feature the participation of Luis Marquina de Soto, President of AEPIBAL, the Business Association of Batteries and Energy Storage, who will share his vision on the evolution and opportunities of energy storage and hybridisation in the current market context. In addition, AleaSoft services for battery and hybridisation projects will be presented.
As usual, the webinar will include the analysis of the evolution and prospects of European energy markets, with special attention to the winter 2025-2026.
