Prospects for European energy markets in the second half of 2024. Wholesale markets design and PPA

Oriol Saltó i Bauzà, he is an Associate Partner at AleaGreen. He has a PhD in Physics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has 20 years of experience in data analysis and modelling both in the context of scientific research and in energy markets. At AleaSoft, for more than ten years, he has been at the forefront of the development of forecasting models for the European energy markets: electricity, gas, oil, CO₂, among others.

Daniel Fernández Alonso is an Industrial Engineer ICAI (2004), Master in the Electricity Sector from Comillas (2006) and EMBA from IESE (2016). He has more than 18 years of experience in the energy sector, mainly at ENGIE (former GDF SUEZ), where he has held different positions in Madrid and Paris in the areas of optimisation of generation assets, trading and risk management for Spain and other European countries. Between 2012 and 2016, he was Corporate Director at Engie in Spain (People, Communication, IT and Purchasing) and, since 2016, he is Director of Energy Management – Wholesale Markets at ENGIE Spain. Since 2006, he is also a Professor of various electrical technology subjects at Comillas ICAI.

Julio Nieto has 25 years of experience in the energy sector. He is currently Head of Regulation Affairs at Engie Spain, a company in which he previously served as Head of Energy Management, from 2009 to 2021, and as head of analysis and planning, from 2005 to 2008. Between 1998 and 2005 he was a market operator in OMIE.

Ignacio Sáenz Berruga is Head of Origination and Sales at Engie Spain. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector in which he has specialised in areas such as operations management, business development and market analysis. He has participated in PPA negotiations for wind, solar thermoelectric, photovoltaic and hydroelectric energy, with solid contacts and experience in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
