  • Evolution and prospects of European energy markets
  • Importance of forward markets for the development of renewable energies
  • Auction of renewable PPAs with electro-intensives

The energy crisis that Europe is experiencing since the second half of 2021, which has been aggravated since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, has revealed the need to further promote the development of renewable energies, as a way to reduce energy dependence on foreign energy, reduce electricity prices and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In this webinar we will analyze some tools that will favor the development of renewable energies.

On the one hand, the speakers from OMIP and OMIClear will explain the importance of forward markets for hedging and for the development of renewable energies. In addition, they will explain the operation of the Iberian Energy Market and the most important products.

On the other hand, the analysis table will include the participation of Fernando Soto, General Director of the AEGE, who will talk about the auction of renewable PPAs with electro-intensives that the association he presides is organizing. This auction, in addition to helping to finance renewable energy projects, will allow electro-intensive consumers to secure stable prices below those of the market for part of the energy they need in their processes.

As usual, the analysis of the evolution of the European energy markets in recent weeks and the outlook for the last quarter of 2022 will also be carried out.
