The first AleaSoft webinar of the new five-year period will feature speakers from PwC Spain for the fifth time, as every January webinar since 2021.
This edition will update the analysis conducted in the January 2024 webinar on the state of regulation related to PPA and renewable energy, and on virtual PPA.
As the development of energy storage and hybridisation is expected to accelerate in this five-year period, we will also analyse their prospects. In addition, we will address FPA (Flexibility Purchase Agreements), which are currently growing thanks to the integration of batteries in PPA.
Another topic of analysis will be the electrification of industry, a key factor in advancing the decarbonisation of the sector and, at the same time, increasing electricity demand. This increase in demand is essential to mitigate price cannibalisation in the electricity market due to the growing penetration of renewable energies.
As usual, an analysis of the evolution and prospects of European energy markets from 2025 onwards will be presented.
Speakers
Alberto Martín is Energy Sector Consulting Partner at PwC Spain. He has over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, specialising in the analysis of liberalised businesses, operational efficiency, tactical analysis and regulatory advice to the main companies in the sector.
Roxana Fernández Rabuñal is Energy Sector Consulting Manager at PwC Spain. She has 6 years of experience as a consultant at PwC. At this stage she has acquired experience in energy consulting and transformation projects for the main companies in the sector. She has carried out various sector studies of both electricity and gas, regulatory and cost analyses, and has developed analytical accounting and profitability models. Likewise, she has advised different clients on their decarbonisation and renewable energy supply strategies internationally, addressing the different alternatives available in each country.
Oriol Saltó i Bauzà is Associate Partner at AleaSoft. He is PhD in Physics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has 20 years of experience in data analysis and modelling both in the context of scientific research and in energy markets. At AleaSoft, for more than 15 years, he has been at the forefront of the development of forecasting models for the European energy markets: electricity, gas, oil, CO2, among others.
Webinar Moderator
Alejandro Delgado Fornaguera is Associate Partner at AleaSoft, with more than 12 years of experience in the development and coordination of forecasting projects for the energy sector. He has been involved in projects for forecasting prices, demand and renewable energy production in global electricity markets, covering short, medium and long term horizons.
