Energy markets in Europe face the second half of 2026 in a context marked by the consolidation of renewable energy generation, increased market price volatility and the need to incorporate new flexibility and hedging tools to reduce exposure to risk. Therefore, having an up‑to‑date view of market developments and potential trends is essential for strategic decision‑making.
This webinar, which will feature speakers from Engie Spain for the eighth time in the monthly webinar series organised by AleaSoft Energy Forecasting, will analyse the recent evolution of the main European energy markets and the prospects for the second half of the year, paying particular attention to the factors that will continue to shape the behaviour of market prices, fuels and CO2 emission allowances.
It will also address the opportunities and challenges facing the renewable energy sector in a market phase characterised by high penetration of solar and wind energy generation, greater pressure on captured prices and the need to move towards increasingly optimised and flexible business models.
During the session, the current situation of the PPA market in Spain, its main trends and the role these agreements continue to play as an instrument for stability, financing and hedging in a changing price environment will also be reviewed.
In addition, the prospects for battery energy storage will be analysed, a technology set to play an increasingly important role in flexibility management, renewable energy integration and the creation of new value opportunities within the electricity system.
