Energy markets in Europe face the second half of 2026 in a context marked by the consolidation of renewable generation, the greater volatility of market prices and the need to incorporate new flexibility and coverage tools to reduce risk exposure. This is why having an updated view of the evolution of the markets and their possible trends is essential for making strategic decisions.

In this webinar, which will feature for the seventh time the participation of speakers from ENGIE Spain within the series of monthly webinars organised by AleaSoft Energy Forecasting, the recent evolution of the main European energy markets and the prospects for the second half of the year will be analysed. paying special attention to the factors that will continue to condition the behaviour of market prices, fuels and CO2 emission rights.

Likewise, the opportunities and challenges faced by the renewable sector will be addressed in a market phase characterised by a high penetration of solar and wind generation, greater pressure on captured prices and the need to move towards models increasingly optimised and flexible business models.

During the session, the current situation of the PPA market in Spain will also be reviewed, its main trends and the role that these agreements continue to play as an instrument of stability, financing and coverage in a changing price environment.

On the other hand, the perspectives of energy storage in batteries, a technology, will be analysed. called to play an increasingly relevant role in the management of flexibility, renewable integration and the creation of new value opportunities within the electrical system.
