European energy markets are undergoing a period of transformation, marked by increasing penetration of renewable energy, greater price volatility and an evolving regulatory environment. Understanding recent market developments and anticipating future trends has become essential for decision‑making.

In this context, energy storage, particularly batteries, is consolidating its role as a strategic asset within the electricity system. Beyond its technical function, storage opens up new revenue opportunities, contributes to flexibility management and is becoming a key element for efficiently integrating renewable energy production.

This webinar will explore the prospects for energy markets in Europe and the role of storage, analysing both its function within the system and the opportunities it offers in an increasingly dynamic and complex environment.

Speakers

Alejandro Diego Rosell is a qualified lawyer with extensive international experience in the solar energy sector. He has worked in business development, market analysis and strategic consulting for photovoltaic energy companies. He is currently Director of Studies at World Wide Recruitment and works as an independent communications consultant, in addition to leading energy consultancy projects through his firm SunAdvisors. He is a lecturer at EOI and Director of the Executive Programme in Energy Storage Technologies and Markets. He is also active as an energy communicator across various social media platforms.

Oriol Saltó i Bauzà is Associate Partner at AleaSoft. He is PhD in Physics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has 20 years of experience in data analysis and modelling both in the context of scientific research and in energy markets. At AleaSoft, for more than 15 years, he has been at the forefront of the development of forecasting models for the European energy markets: electricity, gas, oil, CO₂, among others.

Alejandro Delgado Fornaguera is Associate Partner at AleaSoft, with more than 15 years of experience in the development and coordination of forecasting projects for the energy sector. He has been involved in projects for forecasting prices, demand and renewable energy production in global electricity markets, covering short, medium and long term horizons.
