Europe is experiencing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and governments are taking measures to stop its advance. After more than eight months, it remains unclear when the end of the health crisis will occur and uncertainty about the consequences of this situation in economies already severely affected during the first wave of the pandemic is increasing. This uncertainty also affects the energy markets and the prospects for how they will behave in the medium and long term.
