European electricity market prices fall in the second week of May under pressure from wind and photovoltaic energy

In the second week of May, the weekly average prices of the main European electricity markets fell compared to the previous week and were, for the most part, below €100/MWh. Higher wind and solar energy production supported this trend. Germany recorded its highest wind energy production for a May day in the last four years, while TTF gas futures reached their highest settlement price since April 8.
