Catedral de Helsinki

Finland’s electricity market is part of the Nordic regional market operated by Nord Pool, which manages the day-ahead and intraday markets fully coupled with the rest of Europe through the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) and the Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC). The Finnish transmission system operator is Fingrid, responsible for the operation of the transmission system and supply security.

Finland has a diversified generation mix that includes nuclear, hydroelectric, biomass, wind, and more recently, solar photovoltaic energy. The country is a key player in Nordic energy cooperation.

In the coming years, the Finnish electricity system will continue to move towards a low-emission model:

At AleaSoft, we have been providing services for European electricity markets for 27 years, including Finland and Nord Pool.
