AleaSoft, March 4, 2020. In Hungary, the electricity production is mostly based on nuclear energy, which is complemented by the production from fossil fuels, gas and coal. Meanwhile, the production from renewable energy sources is still insignificant. The objective is to reach 21% of renewable energy production in 2030 basically by installing photovoltaic energy massively. In order to reduce CO2 emissions, the plans are also replacing coal with gas and maintaining the nuclear energy.
