The Croatian electricity market is operated by CROPEX (Croatian Power Exchange), the national electricity exchange, which commenced operations in 2016. CROPEX manages the day-ahead and intraday markets and has been part of the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) since 2018 and the Continuous Intraday Coupling (SIDC) since 2021, enabling full integration with the European electricity market.
The Croatian generation mix includes significant participation of hydroelectric energy, complemented by thermal power plants and sustained growth of renewable sources such as solar and wind energy.
